Vincent Speed Works Launch Weekend

A Weekend of Stoke, Community, and New Beginnings!

What a weekend it was for Vincent Speed Works! We officially launched our suspension shop with a two-part celebration that brought together our incredible riding community, shared good vibes, and marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter. From tearing up the trails of Demo Forest to a heartfelt gathering at the shop, it was a weekend to remember.

The Launch Ride: Stoke Levels Off the Charts in Demo Forest!

Sunday, May 26, kicked off with an absolutely contagious energy. Our "open-to-everyone" group ride gathered at the Demo Forest trailhead, ready to embrace the legendary trails of Soquel. Despite a minor SRAM shifter battery hiccup early on, the stoke was evident and grew as we began our climb.

The ascent to the lookout bench was a chill, social affair, offering a chance to reconnect, meet new faces, and soak in the stunning scenery. But the real party started as we hit the Ridge Trail. The goal? Pure, unadulterated fun, hitting stupid lines, launching off anything and everything. The air was filled with whoops and hollers from the entire group – a symphony of pure joy. It was a proper "party train," with riders cutting each other up, going three-wide through rock gardens, and kicking up dust, all while dissolving into fits of laughter. It was a truly unforgettable moment, a perfect embodiment of the infectious spirit we aim to generate at Vincent Speed Works.

After that wild ride, we ripped down Sawpit, leaving most riders with dust layered on their faces, but everyone was lapping it up. The smiles were as wide as the trails were fast! Then came the climb to the top of the legendary Flow Trail. Everyone was eager for a full, uninterrupted run from top to bottom—a perfect definition of the trail name. We dove in, hitting that full flow state for over 12 minutes of bermy, jumpy, and full-speed ripping.

For most, the day officially wrapped up around 23 miles and 4,000 feet of elevation, which is usually more than plenty for most of us. However, another community group was undertaking their annual 5k, 10k, or even 15k-foot climb ride in the forest. Spurred on by their epic challenge, a small group of us, after devouring that group's hot dogs, filled our bottles, saddled up, and went for more! We added a few more laps, attacking and racing the descents of Braille and Flow trail on our enduro bikes, making the subsequent climbs even harder. By the time we were done, our small group had collectively ridden 42 miles and climbed over 7,000 feet! Just enough for a few of us to get the classic demo forest energy bonk on the climb out.

The Shop Party: Good Vibes and Community Spirit

Saturday evening brought the much-anticipated Vincent Speed Works Launch Party to the shop. After months of dedicated work getting the workshop ready, it was an incredibly special moment to finally open our doors and share our passion for all things suspension.

The evening was a beautiful outpouring of support, care, and enthusiasm. The atmosphere was buzzing with good vibes, music, and the shared excitement of the cycling community. Guests enjoyed snacks and refreshing drinks, mingled, and talked about life, growth, cars, bikes, and suspension.

The shop launch was a significant experience. It underscored the incredible power of community and connection. We heard stories of personal growth, challenging oneself, and finding purpose beyond traditional paths. These conversations, born out of shared passion and vulnerability, truly highlighted the spirit of what Vincent Speed Works is all about: not just fixing bikes, but fostering connections and supporting each other on our individual journeys. This sense of shared experience, of being able to disarm and connect with others on a deeper level, aligns with the heart of "Speed Therapy" – finding not just mechanical solutions, but emotional resonance through the shared love of riding.

The Heart of Vincent Speed Works

This launch weekend was about laying the foundation for a community. It was about seeing the tangible excitement for what Vincent Speed Works offers and the incredible support from everyone who showed up, rode with us, and shared their stories.

The journey to this point has been an adventure—exciting, a little scary, and full of learning. But seeing so many familiar faces and meeting new ones, all sharing in the stoke, confirmed that we're building something truly special.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who came out to celebrate with us and make this launch weekend an unforgettable success. We can't wait to see you on the trails and at the shop as we grow and evolve.
